About

My yoga mat has taken me halfway around the world.

I spent a decade in corporate sales, international business, and team leadership. Then I followed a deeper calling, traded my blazer for a yoga mat, and went where it took me.

My story

I spent 10 years building a successful career in international business and sales. At the end of 2019, I went on a life changing service trip to Nepal. I was never the same. Within the next year, I quit my stable corporate job, packed up 1 suitcase and headed out to teach yoga & do outreach work all around the world through an organization called Adventures in Missions.

Since then, my yoga practice has taken me to eco-lodges and surf resorts in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, where I taught yoga every day. I learned to surf while leading yoga at a Christian surf camp, and I fell in love with it. I spent a couple years in northern Nicaragua doing a yoga work trade at an ecolodge and surf camp called Amaru, teaching our guests and the local staff who lived alongside us. And we surfed, a lot!

I’ve walked close to 120 miles of the Camino de Santiago as I led a transformative leadership retreat for women from several nonprofits. I’ve also hosted retreats in Southeast Asia and led yoga, surf & adventure retreats for women in Costa Rica.

Now I’m rooted back in Northwest Arkansas, teaching in studios, with organizations, and to students around the world on YouTube.

How I teach

I teach slow, soulful movement with a lot of breath.

I want you to leave feeling safe, supported, and seen, and a little more at rest than when you came in. Much of what I teach is about calming the nervous system: moving intentionally, breathing well, and resting deeply.

I teach a wide range of yoga, from trauma informed, slow flow, gentle yoga, restorative, yin, yoga nidra, heated vinyasa, yoga sculpt, power flow, alignment-based yoga, mobility and stretch, and breath-centered mindfulness. I also teach yoga for pregnancy and baby & me yoga, because I love supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum.

Faith and welcome

Everyone is welcome here.

I’m a Christ-centered yoga teacher, and I’ve trained in faith-based yoga and contemplative practices as a form of Bhakti & Hatha Yoga. My faith is a big part of my life, and my YouTube channel is full of prayer and scripture.

I also teach in secular, corporate, athletic, and community settings, and I mean it when I say everyone is welcome. Whether you follow Jesus, have a different faith, are a seeker, or don’t believe in anything at all, that’s more than OK.

You’re welcome here, and I’d love to practice with you.

Projects

I do a lot of different things.

People always ask what I’m working on. Here are a few.

Amaru, Nicaragua

Amaru Nicaragua is a retreat center where I did one of my long-term yoga work trades, and I might host retreats there one day. I’m in their trailer.

A documentary – “From Poacher to Protector”

I narrated a documentary and was its assistant director, and it’s headed to film festivals.

Outreach

I take yoga where it’s needed.

I’ve partnered with nonprofits to bring trauma-informed yoga and emotional support to underserved women and communities, with Wholeness Journey and Adventures in Missions, among others.

My outreach is sponsored by The Cause, a 501(c)(3). Gifts keep my weekly YouTube teachings and prayer flows free, and they support live community gatherings.
